Would anyone like to provide first-day WES coverage?
WES (Westside Express Service) is making long-awaited maiden voyage on February 2. I was hoping to be chosen in the “WES Time” Essay Contest, to be one of 30 lucky riders to ride WES on that date, but alas was not chosen.
So I was hoping a TriMetiquette reader was chosen or perhaps will be riding WES that day to snap some pictures and tell us how the WES is.
Anyone interested?
Wish I could be invited… *nudge nudge TriMet higher-ups* ![]()

I won’t be on WES on day one, but I’ll be doing a VERY thorough report (which should be my first video blog entry) around the middle of March or late February.
If you’d like to join me I think it would be great to get a lot of us transit bloggers together to run a few commute runs when the thing is actually in “regular service”. Then we can show people how it is really going for the day to day of getting the job done of moving commuters.
If you or anyone you know is interested (and willing to jump one of the early, or late trains, with me) go comment on this blog entry I made: http://adronbhall.com/blogs/my_transportation_obsession/post/2008/11/21/WES-Commuter-Plan.aspx
Of course I’ll be around.
At least to take one ride.
I’ll probably never need to use it in the “real” world

I will totally be doing this on 1/28 via my iPhone and Twitter, search on #wes starting around 4p or so (though WES-specific coverage won’t start until close to 5p).
I will be taking MAX from the Hatfield station, then catching WES for the second, special trip to Wilsonville.
