TriMet Transit Tracker SMS Alerts

Don’t have the time to navigate through TriMet’s Transit Tracker or don’t have the phone capable to do so?  Get Transit Tracker SMS alerts instead!

I’ve tested this out and it worked perfectly.  The unfortunate thing is that you need to know the stop ID of the particular stop you want times for.  Here were the results that came back in 3 seconds to my iPhone when I checked up a close Stop ID:

I checked TriMet’s Transit Tracker on their site and compared numbers and it was spot on!

Pretty nifty if you’re on the run and want an up-to-the-minute tracker info (thanks to the Hazelnut blog for blogging about this).

One wonders why the requirement for the “pdxt” ?

Sam Keen, the developer, plans to release versions that have less text required to get data. Currently it’s just one of his side projects. :)
