TriMetiquette reader Craig sent TriMet an email about the Steve situation. Here was TriMet’s response:
“Dear Craig:
In order to send your comments to the operator’s supervisor I need a
little more information. I need to know what time Steve is driving the
#15. Where do you board and the direction of travel. We have over 1200
bus operators and so time and date is important as there may be more
then one Steve.Naomia

Obviously, we need some more info to give to Craig so he can follow up. If anyone has any specific info (times he drives, the stop you board, etc.), please leave a comment and I’ll let Craig know of this post.

My comment: Let this issue go. It is a battle you are unlikely to win.
First, I want to say that I think Naomia is most likely lying. From what I have seen, a decent number of people have written about this and notified Trimet. So, I am sure they know who people mean by Steve. They might have several Steves, but only one who told jokes, was told to stop, and has since created several blog posts and emails/calls to TriMet.
Anyway, I have ridden on Steve’s bus several times. I would catch it around 6:40 at SW2nd and Alder (Stop ID 7095). This is the last stop before going East over the Morison Bridge. He drives (drove possibly as I haven’t ridden this one in a bit) two or three days a week.
