Pants Off ride this Saturday, January 10

The “Global No Pants Subway Ride Portland” Event is happening this Saturday, January 10th.  Expect some pantless riders between 3 – 6pm on the MAX and buses.

Heard about this event on OregonLive.  You can RSVP or read more event details on the Portland Facebook page.

Me?  Eh.  I don’t think my wife will appreciate me riding pantless on the MAX :)

Hm… Yes, another TriMet employee emailed me about this event. Unfortunately I AM working Saturday between 3 and 6 PM – I don’t know how much I will enjoy the various kinds of underwear I might see… I am kind of picky… :-(

I am hoping I can trade my work with the guy I often trade with for Saturdays… :-)

    Sigh…

They should have had this day in the middle of the snow storm. Now, THAT would have been fun :-) Perhaps next year…

Count me, my wife, and my son in.

In, that is, in my privately owned automobile.

    In clothes. In pants.

  3. EMS says:

Erik, I am with you – I may also be there – with PANTS on, inside a PRIVATE Max cab…

Oh, this will be a lot of fun :-)

  4. al m says:

    I’m going, WITHOUT PANTS!
Can they fire me if I am not on duty?

  5. EMS says:

LOL – why don’t you try? You can be our guinea pig about these kinds of important things…

  6. Adam B. says:

I will find a reason to be on a bus during that time. And I *may* or *may not* have pants on…

  7. al m says:

    DAMMIT!
    I gotta work today!
I better keep my pants on while on duty eh?

  8. EMS says:

Al, that might be a good choice on your part…

  9. al m says:

“Al, that might be a good choice on your part…”

    Ya think?

See I ain’t as dumb as I look!

  10. EMS says:

Al, LOL… I don’t know – I have not seen you in person… he he

  11. Christian says:

Al – come on now, pants OFF WHEN DRIVING!

  12. EMS says:

OK, so did anybody see any pantless riders at all? I sure did not, and I WAS at work, all night…

I am so relieved… I think… The entertainment value would have been great, though, so in a way I feel cheated…

    :-)

  13. al m says:

no pants off on the 67……….

  14. Christian says:

I did not notice any pantless riders yesterday..

  15. EMS says:

Yes, I think this was a big NON-EVENT. Perhaps it would have been more popular if the temps had not been so low. Actually, that saved the day…

Yet, there is that entertainment value…

I saw a pack of pantless riders on the streetcar headed south. I think most people found it amusing, though I noticed a few offended folks averting their eyes. In all honesty, “pantless” is not much different than “wearing shorts.” So far, I’d say this event cannot hold a candle to the World Naked Bike Ride, which is THE pantless event of the year here in our fair city.

  17. Christian says:

@ethan agreed. I mean hey, I’m a boxer-brief dude. If I went “pantless” it would essentially be me in almost shorts.

The Naked Bike Ride, yeah, now that is a bit more shocking than a pantless public transportation ride :)
