I’ve been keeping an eye out on Oregon Street Talk, a blog that’s about:
“The Oregon Street Talk seeks to provide a “street-level” vantage point to issues and current affairs, as well as to provide useful information and resources.”
I’ve refrained from mentioning anything from this resource, but their latest post, calling out a TriMet bus operator as being a ‘dimwit’ (amongst seemingly other ‘dimwits’ who seem to drive TriMet buses), shows their obvious disposition against TriMet for all of the wrong reasons.
How did the TriMet operator start “an absolutely unnecessary confrontation that was not even worth $1.75″? The individual presented a fraudulent ticket transfer; the individual was the one ’starting’ the confrontation by not paying like every one else. Why shouldn’t have the operator have asked the individual to exit the bus?
Then again, this rush-to-judgment and calling out of Portland’s public transportation system comes from the person who calls the June 1 construction rerouting a “chance to divide and conquer the Fareless Square in a way no one could think of in the past” and says that TriMet was out to get them after a Committee to End Homeless meeting simply because they wanted “to harass them and gave interdictions/citations for frivolous ‘violations.’”
Give it a rest…
Edited to add - looks like Oregon Street Talk took down the post. Good for them…

Give it a rest indeed!
Some people just hate everything TRIMET, no matter what!
Any chance to sling mud at TRIMET or TRIMET drivers is taken with glee.
I agree that the driver should not have bothered, but the guilty party in this is the fare evader, not the driver.
Driving a Tri-Met bus has to be one of the more difficult jobs in this city because of all of the B.S. drivers have to put up with. Some people will do anything to avoid paying the correct fare.
Although I could not access the original article, I could just about guess what the issue was. It just fractures me that people think they can use services without paying for them. Worst yet, not paying full fare. Would you be able to eat at a fast food establishment without paying full price (or nothing at all, for that matter)? Then to turn around and blame the driver for doing his/her job is just absolutely absurd!
I agree with Kevin…it has to be one of the most difficult jobs!
Looks like Oregon Street Talk took down that post. Good for them…
They took down the post?
Well, at least we know they do have some sense after all.
Imagine, trying to blame the bus driver cause the guy fakes tickets and then attacks the driver!
That really takes nerve.
